As I’m shivering away in this cool change, I can’t help but let my mind wander to everything warm and snuggly.

On the top of my list, closely followed by puppies and uggboots, is knitwear.

I don’t know about you but I feel like this cold spell really snuck up on us - in fact, I can vividly remember basking in the sun just a few days ago – and as a result, I have found myself extremely unprepared.

I have a few knits in my wardrobe from last season but like most women, I feel like I have nothing to wear.

As I am sure I am not the only one, I took the liberty of finding the knit trends that we all need to get our hands on this season.

The Turtleneck

Yep this trend is back from the 90s and I think it is for the better. Styles like this one keep us warm, look great under a coat and will let you show off some of your statement jewellery.

The Knit Dress

We are used to wearing dresses throughout the summer and for the cooler season, a knitted dress like this one is a must-have as well. Pair it with some chunky tights and ankle boots for a chic after-5pm look.

The Button-less Cardi

Forget buttons if you want to look chic this season because the hottest trend in cardis are going without. These look lovely layered under coats but also add a little something extra to any outfit if it’s not quite cool enough to really rug up. Grab a midi-length cardi like this one to be really on-trend this season – I really love the look!

The Crop-sleeved Coat

If you’re going for this trend, go for a style with a wide sleeve but wear it with a tight fitting long-sleeved shirt underneath. This trend is perfect for those in-between days and looks amazing when styled with your favourite scarf and knee length boots. We’re crushing on this coat from My Friend Alice – POL.

The Knitted Top

A little thicker than the usual top, knits are perfect for the cooler weather. They add a bit of warmth but what we really love about them is the way that they fall. Opt for one like this that is slightly longer in the length and it’ll look perfect with a pair of tights.
