This is the season where we reach for our trusty red lipstick, knowing that it will be able to brighten up even the most boring of winter outfits.
Sometimes the pop of colour is all that it takes to bump up our mood, get us out of our trackies and out on the town.
Red lipstick is the perfect colour but with so many different colours, textures and types out there, when it comes to choosing the perfect one, it is hard to know where to start.
It would take you years of trawling through Priceline's aisles and every Myer counter before you had tried them all.
To give you a helping hand, Missy has chosen her 15 favourites and has trusted them to her minion Katie, who tried and tested every one.

ModelCo Party Proof Matte Lipstick, in Smitten
I am absolutely smitten with the colour of this red – it is slightly pink and not so ‘look at me’, which makes it a perfect everyday red!
On the scale of matte to crème, this lipstick sits in the middle, so if you are looking for a total matte finish, keep shopping around!
You’ll need to reapply it throughout the day, however with the handy mirror on the case, it’s worth it. Honestly, I would buy this lipstick just for the mirror!
Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani, in Rouge 400
If you are after luxury, this lipstick is the one for you… it not only looks a million dollars, it feels it too.
I was so impressed by the magnetic snap shut lid that I knew I was going to love this red from first wear, and I was right.
It feels luxurious on and the colour is simply perfect! I love the wet look that this lipstick gives you. It’s a 10/10.
Klara Kiss Proof Lips, in #05 Flaming Red
This is a really fun lipstick. It goes on wet (you apply it with a wand) and dries into the mattest of mattes – you almost feel like you are painting your lips.
I can’t even describe how intense the colour is as well – it is a real stand out.
You won’t need to worry about reapplying this baby so kiss away!
Napoleon Superlips Lipstick, in Bionic
I actually don’t think words can describe how much I love this lipstick.
It goes on so smoothly (so smooth that you’ve got to be careful you don’t draw it right off your lips), is the perfect dark red colour and makes you feel fabulous!
This is going on my high rotation list.
