Katy rocked a braided bun so enormous that it must have given her a migraine; Taylor channeled a novelty rap hit of yore with her frosty colours (Ice Ice Baby); while Lorde showed that goth will never die - all at this year’s Grammys.
Here are our top hair and makeup looks of the night.
1. Katy Perry
We’re not going to mention Katy’s Ebony and Ivory dress at this stage, but suffice to say her hair and makeup were stupendous. Channeling Elizabeth Taylor at her most regal, Katy rocked an updo worthy of a queen. Her subtle eye makeup and nude lip colour made this look a winner.
2. Kelly Osbourne
Kelly Osbourne’s feline flick and neat bob made this Grammys look the best she’s had in ages. This hairdo actually suits the shape of her face; while her lipstick colour complimented her lavender tresses nicely.
3. Taylor Swift
Taylor is very fond of the red lip and usually sports it for big Hollywood events, but this time the subtle colour palette really wowed us. The icy blue shadow and white eyeliner brought out the colour in her eyes, while the barely-there pink blush kept this look cool, calm and collected. It was a perfect match for her shimmery, crystal encrusted dress.
4. Anna Kendrick
Everybody’s favourite nutcase from the Twilight series, Anna Kendrick, rocked side swept waves and channeled some old-Hollywood glam with her kohl lined eyes. She didn’t overdo it though, opting to keep the lip nude rather than the more obvious choice of a brighter hue.
The 17-year-old musical wunderkind from NZ is mature beyond her years and it was a welcome site to see her wild locks tamed for this event. Her dark lip gave this look a gothic vibe, while her beautiful eyes were left almost au naturel, ensuring she didn’t look too rock chick.
