Summer 2012… you’re lying on one of Australia’s pristine beaches… the gentle sounds of the surf are hypnotising you into a state of total relaxation… you are at one with nature, enveloped by the beauty that still exists in this earthly paradise….
Funny thing about all that sun and surf and beachy beauty. It can leave your skin a little thirsty.
So in the midst of planning our beach holiday for this Christmas, we were keen to find something that we could take along to put some moisture back into the skin.
Enter Biotherm’s new Aquasource super hydrating skin treatment pack.
First up, we tried the Biosource hydra mineral cleanser toning mousse. When you mix a small amount with water, it creates a gentle lather that takes away the day’s grime but doesn’t strip the skin, leaving it smooth.
Next, the Biosource instant hydration toning lotion. Applied with a cotton ball, this toner leaves the skin feeling fresh but not tight.
We finished with the Aquasource 24 hour deep hydration replenishing gel. The first thing we noticed was the heavenly scent! It smells great, pretty much like the seaside fantasy above. The texture of the gel is very light, and leaves the skin tingling, but with a smooth dewy surface, not the sludgy feeling you sometimes get with other hydration creams. As someone with sensitive skin, I need to finish with a soothing moisturiser that leaves my skin feeling settled, and this silky gel gets the job done.
The whole routine leaves your skin feeling refreshed and soothed.
The other plus with this pack is the cool and eye-catching box, which immediately got me thinking: “Ah ha! This will make a great Xmas pressie for someone! Maybe for mum… or my sister… hell… why not for me!”. Some little niece will want to use that box for her treasures too…
I later found out this limited edition holiday packaging was designed by internationally acclaimed Swedish illustrator Ingela Peterson Arrhenius, to mark Biotherm’s commitment to the global ocean charity Mission Blue.
A minimum of €250,000 from the sale of these limited addition charity holiday packs will go towards protecting the Ross Sea in Antarctica.
With this first campaign Biotherm is launching its Water Lovers charity platform. Their goal is to support projects that help protect the world’s vital water sources.
So while you’re giving a gift to someone, you’re giving a gift to the planet too. Now that’s gotta make you feel good.
