Beach season is just a few short weeks away, but did you know there are different types of tanner? Which one is right for you and your bronzing needs?
1. The gradual tanner: The daily moisturiser or gel is one that slowly and subtly builds up an even, natural glow over a few days of use. If you want to mimic a natural tan developing, this is the way to go. Your tan will also last longer because your skin will be super moisturised, a great plus. My favourite is Dove Summer Glow ($6.99) and Le Tan Coconut Tanning Gel ($12.99).
2. The instant tanner: You can get instant tanners as a lotion, spray or mousse. My favourite is the instant cream or mousse because you can immediately see results, you don’t miss any spots, and it’s a more intense colour. The best I’ve found are St Tropez Bronzing Lotion and Mousse ($39.95) and Le Tan Instant Lotion ($12.99). You can apply this with your hands or with a Tanning Mitt like this ModelCo one ($11.95).
3. Spray tanners: Sprays are another type of instant tanner, they might be difficult to use on your own as you typically need to hold the can 10-20cm away from your body to achieve even results, so you may need an assistant. A plus to a spray tanner is that your hands won’t go muddy! Try Sugar Baby Golden Glow Spray Tan ($1.95) or Le Tan in Le Can ($15.29).
4. Wash off Bronzer: If you’re after an even more temporary colour, there are many wash off products on the market. So you can apply before an event, and know that it’s completely commitment free! Try the PureTan Instant Wash Off Bronzer ($25.95).
Now, will you go for a temporary wash off, a gradual bronze or an instant glow?
