Designer DETAIL - Alice McCall

Ease yourself into winter with 'The Innocents'

Here is a girl who was always destined for big things. Alice McCall's success story starts more than 10 years ago when she made her mark on the London fashion scene as a successful stylist and designer.

Spending two years at MTV London styling for the 'Stylissimo' series and the presenters, she styled fellow Aussie Natalie Imbruglia for 'Dazed and Confused' magazine. After that success, she worked with Natalie for the next two years for the launch of her single 'Torn,' styling major press shoots, videos and public performances, and creating a look that helped launch Natalie's style icon status.

Living Large

Freelancing as a stylist, and working with the likes of Kelis, Destiny's Child, Blondie and Marianne Faithful, Alice added her distinctive touch to international advertising campaigns for Levi's, Nike and Rimmel. Still in London, she began making one-off luxury silk tops and 50's style customized dresses that were sold through top London boutiques Pinneal Eye , Euphoria and Wink.

The feminine and quirky pieces were quickly snapped up by the likes of Kate Moss and London stylist Katie England. The eminent transition from super stylist to daring designer began.

The launch of an icon

Alice launched her now coveted label at Australian Fashion Week 2004 with local and international acclaim, and her thriving business is now based in Surry Hills, Sydney. The label garners a world wide following, perfectly combining elements of tender girlish charm and bohemian flare all mixed up with a bit of rock and roll.

Fans of Alice's designs include Jools Oliver, Natalie Imbruglia, Diane Kruger and Chloe Sevigny, who have all been recently photographed in Alice's latest Autumn Winter 06 Collection.
