Dragstar retro cool is always in fashion.

For those of us who vividly remember life in the 70's, a trip into Dragstar is loaded with humour and nostalgia. From the funky symbol of free wheelin on the logo, to the 70's badges and pins scattered temptingly around the store, Dragstar is the real retro deal made fresh and modern. So where did this funky fashion label begin?

Celia Morris is the founder, owner and designer of this thriving business. Like a few of Sydney's most successful designers, Celica's company really grew from a successful run with her original, quirky designs at a Sydney market. With a more graphic, less "fashion" approach to her designs, Celia's unique, customised fabrics and original cuts quickly gained a loyal following, with demand for the label leading to the opening of the first Dragstar store, located in fashionable Bondi Beach.

Success of the Bondi store led to the expansion of the business, not only in store locations but items in the collection as well. A flagship store was opened in Newtown, and Celia expanded her range to include handbags, knitwear, accessories and jewellery.

Celia says her design inspiration can come from anywhere - including classic films of the 70's. With a nod to the past, the casually perfect '70's chic seen in such cult movies as 'Shampoo' and 'American Gigolo' gives rise to Dragstar's coolly elegant pieces with a modern twist.
