We love a good Aussie label brought to us from the living floor of an apartment. Why? It takes true talent and persistence (and a little luck) to get these labels off the ground, so we know we can expect something really special and unique from these Aussie super designers.

Jade Dockery is the latest to join the rank of sisters who have built an empire out of their home, bringing us clothes so delicious Jennifer Hawkins doesn't even try to resist. And when you are in the shop fronts of General Pants nation wide, you know you are on to a good thing.

Sisters are doing it for themselves

Having already completed Diplomas in Fashion and worked abroad in London and Hong Kong in the Fashion Industry, Jade was aware of the gap in the Australian market for girls urban fashion. With her production and design know-how and the business acumen of partners Amber Johnson and Kate Stancliffe, Effigy 4:9 went from underground cool to massive success in no time.

Inspired by electro music and fluoro animalia, with a mix in of hand drawn graphics and geometric shapes, effigy displays an essence of genius not seen in the fashion industry since the discovery of fluoro lycra.

Vibes on a summers day

Effigy 4:9's Summer range is engineered for the Aussie chick who's heading to The Big Day Out; bright colourful tee's and singlets with cool prints and stand out of the crowd colours, hand dyed printed rainbow dresses, electric coloured jersey club dresses. Effigy 4:9 lives and breathes the summer vibe and this is reflected in the awesome clothes.

Highlights from the collection include the Tiger Moth tee, Bully the Audio cropped hoodie and the Hi Sky Balloon purple dress, set to take you from festival frenzy to disco diva with a simple change of shoes.
