Kristy Correy expresses her ‘Unlikely Emotions.’

Based in fashion forward Perth, Kristy Correy has a simple philosophy for her blossoming label Les Corbeaux – “I design for people who want to have a classic look with a contemporary twist.”

What does that mean for us? Unique yet wearable pieces made from quality fabric, easily translated from day to evening in the blink of an eye.

Described as ‘a label to watch’ and by thescene.com.au, Kristy wowed audiences at the New Generation show at last years’ Perth Fashion Festival, where she was a parade finalist.

With many successful participants of the Perth event going on the bigger things at Australian fashion week, Les Corbeaux is certainly the up and coming label to keep your keen fashion eye on.

Why design?

It didn't take long for Kristy to realise her enjoyable past time of creating fashion for herself, friends and family could become a succussful career.

“I studied fashion design and worked in magazines for a while but decided to start my own label because I wanted to be more hands on and design things that I wanted to wear,” says Kristy.

'The Ravens'

Translated into ‘the ravens’ in French, Les Corbeaux is all about taking a classic style – and putting your own twist on the look.

“With a focus on simple, classic silhouettes and quality fabrics such as lightweight silks and wool cashmere, the Unlikely Emotions range can be described as anything from chic secretary to sassy party girl.”

Divine Inspiration 

Making most of the warm tones of coffee, charcoal, navy and black, Kristy’s winter collection is inspired by the late 50’s and 60’s. You will find tailored pencil skirts, high waisted pants, 60’s inspired long sleeve dresses and pleated party dresses.

It was a hard decision, but Kristy’s favourite piece from the collection "would have to be the jacket cause it is made from wool cashmere and it feels so nice to wear" (below left)”

Don’t miss the sublime silk top teamed with the high-waisted pants – this ensemble gets our nod for easy glamour that translates well from day to night.

What’s next?

World domination is on Kristy’s cards, but for now she is working on expanding her list of stockists. "I will be stocking my next collection in Brisbane at Parlour8 in Elizabeth Arcade and possibly a few other places," says Kristy.
