Maurie and Eve bend the rules for summer

Do you consider yourself a bit of a risk taker? Do you like to bend or break all the fashion rules? Kelly Davies does. And so springs the inspiration for the summer Maurie and Eve collection 'Clash City'. A collection breaking just a few fashion rules, in style.

So what's the look in Summer 06/07?

In the upcoming summer season, the Maurie and Eve girl will be happy to experiment with the shapes, colours and themes. She will be spoiled for choice with a fabulous range of summer skirts, printed retro inspired dresses and an extensive range of trademark singlets and separates.

"The text book way of a designer to create their seasonal range is to have it be based on a theme…I've gone against that rule this time, using colours, shapes and styles that I would wear, whether they match or not," Kelly says.

The popular customized singlets that Davies is renowned feature again this seaon, this time in lace and gingham, encompassing shorts and boob tubes. We loved the 'Hawaiian Breeze' dress, it's certainly the highlight of the collection, with a bold floral print in a fresh palette of colours. For fashion addicts who can't get enough of colour, the Maurie and Eve range is loaded with must have options.

When Kelly's grandparents Maurice and Evelyn were tragically killed in a car accident in 2001, Kelly took time to reflect. Left an antique sewing machine, and the legacy of her grandparent's unconditional love, Kelly was inspired to create her unique and funky label, Maurie and Eve.

An exciting new men's range is on the horizon, as Kelly is collaborating with her brother and design partner Maya Clemmenson's boyfriend to create a new line for men seeking original and distinctive designs.

Maurie and Eve Clash City will be available throughout Australia and New Zealand from Tuchuzy Bondi and Glue Stores in NSW, The Dressing Room and Cactus Jam in VIC, Cadillac Cowboy and Red Zoo in QLD, and Live stores in WA.
