Designer DETAIL - Rosemin

Romans and Egyptians reign supreme at Rosemin.

The extravagance and romance of the Romans and Egyptians inspire a timeless collection for inventive Melbourne designer Rosemin Kim.

Setting up shop.

Arriving in Australia six years ago, Korean Rosemin Kim put her fierce love of fashion and design into use straight away, by setting up a little boutique on Greville St, Prahan, and selling our fave Oz designer brands such as State of Georgia, Jessie Hill, Emma Peel, Nicola Finetti, Mogil and Peep Toe.

The business thrived, but soon Rosemin felt the need to transform the ideas and inspirations from her mind into her very own label, which would demonstrate her own design skills.

Rosemin experienced overwhelming success with her eponymous label, which ever since its inception has been the best seller within the store. It’s Rosemin’s uncanny prediction of future fashion and trends that make her so different.

The weekly grind.

Forget waiting for the start of a new season for a designer’s new range - Rosemin works hard to release new designs week by week, making sure each individual design reflects her passion for forward fashion design.

Currently, you will find Rosemin has been inspired by the timeless period of ancient Romans and Egyptians. The women of those times, with their extreme affluence and extravagance are a stimulating vision for Rosemin and her label.

Rosemin likes to keep her brand exclusive and therefore only makes a small number of each intricately designed garment. She also uses exclusive imported fabrics from Korea such as luxurious silks and satins, viscose, jerseys and delicate buttons and trims, ensuring your garment will be an absolute showstopper.

Pick a favourite.

The Moonflower Dress from the current collection is Rosemin’s top pick. Look out for the soon to be released Janette Bustiere Dress, which Rosemin is sure will be a crowd pleaser. We love the cosy belted long cardigan (left), which is right on trend this season and perfect for keeping warm on those frosty days.

Next up at Rosemin?

Rosemin’s next goal is to begin wholesaling throughout Australia and begin international branding. Her ambition “is to continue to design beautiful dresses which appeal to women’s deepest emotions, making them feel confident and sexy through self expression.”

Find Rosemin in Melbourne at 444 Chapel St, South Yarra, and Shop 223 Melbourne Central.
