Designer DETAIL

Set match. This hot designing pair have the game SEWN up.

The fashion world loves a talented design duo - Sass and Bide, Zimmermann, Ginger and Smart, Bec & Bridge - these are just a few Australian fashion couplings to reach dizzying heights of success. Joining this smart couples set are a two very clever design graduates, Sera Ng and Eve Wong. They've made a delicious splash with their hot label SEWN.

New Kids on The Block

When a chance meeting brought fashion design graduates Sera Ng and Eve Wong together, they weren't to know their ensuing partnership would create so much buzz. Taking a huge leap of faith, the girls both left their jobs to follow their dream of running their design business. The result? Stylish, beautiful and well-made clothing with quirky details that fashion aficionados are quickly snapping up.

Growth of a super label

Sera and Eve started SEWN with a strong vision, beginning with a simple capsule range of tee's and singlets in their very first collection, and further developing and maturing the label each season to reach the point where they are more and more confident about their creative concepts, range development and market knowledge.

Sell out success

In a testament to their effort and talent, their 'Story of a Girl' SS05/06 collection created so much buzz before it was even delivered to their stockists, that some boutiques had a waiting list for selected pieces, and the range has continued to sell out multiple times through out the season.

"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood…"

So what can we expect for the upcoming winter season? Sera and Eve are traversing the 'Road Less Traveled'. "We wanted this collection to have a personal meaning behind it. We imagined that these thoughts were something a few girls would have experienced too at one stage of their life and could relate to how we were feeling.... making life choices as you move from 'girl-hood' to 'woman-hood," the girls say.

This is interpreted through some of the whimsical baby-doll styled silhouettes and the fitted pencil skirt shapes and dresses through to the warm, rustic colours that help to set the mood.

Fabrics were chosen for comfort and style - from soft modal cotton jersey in t-shirts and tops to the denim jerseys and cotton checks. A beautiful cotton shine adds texture to the collection and features in shades of blues, smokey lilac and hues of cream. Playful checks in clay and khaki add a signature twist to the collection, featuring on dresses and as lining in trench coats and tops.

"Girls should be able to feel comfortable and snug wearing our clothes as the colder months of winter settles in again and also be able to utilise them in their trans-seasonal wardrobe."
