Too good to hide and definitely not for shy girls…Tonii&Daf continues to set the standard for the Aussie lingerie industry.

A collaboration between two avant-garde Australian designers, Tonii&DaF takes fresh and bold steps in lingerie design and production. Focusing on design attitude, exclusivity and comfort, the creative design duo are redefining lingerie for a new generation of women who never want to see another pair of tan briefs.

Meeting during their years at Box Hill TAFE in Melbourne and immediately becoming firm friends, Tanya Bonakdar and Daphne Dimokranitis soon became two time finalists in the Australian Designer Awards in the intimate apparel category.

“From there we travelled overseas and attended all trade shows and gathered all required information to start Tonii&Daf,” says Tanya. Their funky and flirty label Tonii&Daf was formed shortly after.

Why sexy undies?

Recognising the lack of truly creative and inventive lingerie in the Australian market, Tanya and Daphne knew exactly which niche they wanted to fit into. Tanya

explains; “The fact that there was a void in the market for funky lingerie, we created Tonii&Daf to fill this void in the market, steering away from conventional styles.”

The good times.

Tonii&Daf garnered international attention when they were invited to showcase their collection in London at an exclusive show, which showcased only 25 Australian Designers. “We managed to secure prominent UK retailers and gained exposure in the UK market on our first season,” Tanya says of this career highlight.

Not for the faint hearted.

Tonii&Daf love to design the type of lingerie that would be a shame to be hidden – specifically for the kind of gal who loves to express her playful side. “Girls who are funky, who like to feel sexy yet not too girly, and who are not shy to be seen out,” says Tanya.

My personal favourite.

We love the ‘Sounds Good’ collection by these funky girls, but which styles do they favour? “The Deadly Sins collection, which is a leopard print design teamed with bright shades of pink and yellow,” says Tonii. (pictured left).
