Truly a brand for those of us who want fast fashion that looks as good on the body as it does on the hanger - it's no surprise to learn Annette Cannock, Creative Director and founder of Wish, is a self-confessed shopping addict.

"The Wish girl is a fun-loving, stylish and sassy lass who enjoys feeling fabulous in what she wears. Our key motto at Wish is about feeling confident in yourself and what you wear. If I can be responsible for a girl walking out of the house looking and feeling great - then my job is done!" says Cannock.

Cannock began her fashion design business 10 years ago in much the same way as many young designers do - in a room the size of a shoebox. Having travelled the globe sourcing inspiration from far flung places such as London, New York and the British Isles, Cannock returned to Australia brimming with ideas for her new label. Fast forward to 2009 and she has built Wish into one of Australia's most recognisable fashion brands.

From basic work separates to party frocks that would make even the most flamboyant disco diva blush, Wish aims to provide the fun-loving Aussie girl with a fabulous wardrobe she can wear all year round. Cannock produces six collections every year, with a core Wish range which is further enhanced by denim, knits, coats and accessories.

So what's in store for Winter '09 you ask? Cannock has embraced a glam rock theme for the aptly titled 'Almost Famous' collection. Images of the collection see Wish beauties flitting through chic night time venues hand in hand in silk harem pants teamed with chains and fur coats - these girls look like they have an all-access backstage pass to every gig in town.

"This winter the collection channels the 1960's sexy rock chick as lace, embroidery and tough hardware make a comeback. It's a totally new direction in design. This season the look is a little more wild and a little edgier, but still as glamorous as ever." says Cannock.

Dresses designed to be worn with wide belts and sky high platforms, studs, lace and leather all feature in the collection. Hemlines are high and trousers are narrow. The Wish girl for Winter '09 wears rings on all her fingers, sparkling eyes are lined with black and they wear the kind of enviable 'I've just rolled out of bed' hair that's impossible to fake.

She's a pro at accessorising and loves unexpected combinations such as sparkly lurex socks teamed with strappy heels. Her favourite item from the collection is a red silk geometric panelled mini dress.

Wish has dressed famous Aussie faces such as Lyndsey Rodrigues, Tahyna Tozzi and Maz Compton and is stocked in David Jones, Myer and over 200 independent stores throughout Australia and New Zealand.
