Set in a contemporary milieu (that's posh speak for ''now''), Kip Williams (STC’s Under Milk Wood) directs a team of hot new stars in this re-imagining of Shakespeare’s most loved play.

Ditching the Elizabethan frills for cool, contemporary fashion (hooray for that!), this production explores the contrast between the the extravagant material wealth of the Montagues and Capulets, and the the two leads’ yearning for authentic emotional fulfillment (oh how very modern of them!). 

Romeo and Juliet’s longing for liberation from the confines of their dominating family environments sets the scene for their passionate, and ultimately doomed pairing. It never gets old! (we agree!)
