Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Hoopla Event 2007Mark it in your diaries – on the 7th of September, celebs and fashion royalty alike will be getting together for the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Hoola event, held as part of the Motorola Melbourne Fashion Week.
The hats and scarves themed Hoopla charity event will showcase the 07/08 collections of over a dozen high profile Melbourne fashion designers, such as Arabella Ramsay and duo design team, LIFEwithBIRD.
Contributing designer Bridget McCall (one half of LIFEwithBIRD) is thrilled with the opportunity to take part in this philanthropic event. “We are really excited to be part of the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer HOOPLA event. It is a great way for the Melbourne fashion community to get behind a worthy cause,” she said. “This fundraising event appealed to us because the money raise is channelled specifically towards researching breast cancer in younger women - the statistics are really alarming.”
Also donating their time for this event include ARIA chart toppers Dukes of Windsor (DOW). Lead singer Jack Weaving was alarmed to discover that breast cancer also directly affects 95 men in Australia each year.
“Breast cancer does not discriminate, it can affect men and women alike. This was our
motivation to take part in the Hoopla and FTBC awareness campaign,” Jack said.
The second annual Ford Presents, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Hoopla event will be held at the Atlantic Group, Peninsula, Central Pier, Docklands.
Tickets are $100 each + booking fee and available at www.ftbc.com.au Finger food and beverages are included in ticket price with all proceeds going to NBCF to support research into breast cancer in younger women.
