Want to bend it like Beckham? Bend (read: break) a few of your strict, self-imposed fashion rules, that is. Yes? Then you could learn a thing or two from Posh – sorry Victoria – who, we’ve noticed, has been stepping out of her sartorial comfort zone lately.

VB has come a long way since her Spice Girl days, not only in terms of her career but her sense of style too. Sure, the former pop star has made some questionable fashion choices since the girl-band’s heyday – “I LOVED the oh-so-chic (cough) ensembles Posh wore during her reign as the world’s most famous WAG,” said no one ever – but for the last few years, Ms Beckham has been well and truly on the style straight and narrow.

After ditching her standard WAG uniform of sky-high hemlines, OTT embellishments and sucked-in silhouettes in the late noughties, Victoria adopted a more demure look that’s seen her go from being a worst-dressed-list regular to a revered style icon. While she tends to favour form-fitting dresses and sleek, tailored separates these days, it seems like the designer’s style is evolving once again, as she starts to embrace pieces that are less structured but still undeniably chic.

Case in point? The effortlessly cool ensemble we recently spied Victoria in at New York’s JFK Airport. Who knew Posh had it in her to rock a relaxed look like this?

There are three good – no, great – things about this ensemble: a) it’s a cinch to copy; b) the looser, more forgiving cut is universally flattering for all body types; and c) it’s an easy, everyday outfit that you can wear to work and then out to dinner with the girls.

Want to steal VB’s style? Well, we’ve found a selection of almost-identical pieces that will help you recreate her outfit with ease, as well as a few other options for those who desire a sharper silhouette, want to go a bit more street, or prefer an extra pop of colour.
