The two became man and wife in Florence, Italy, snapped standing by the altar by an eagle-eyed fan.
And boy, was it a wedding fit for pop culture king and queen.
Not content with settling for a sensibly sized palace like Versaille, the best-selling Vogue cover stars recited their vows in Forte di Belvedere, a spectacular Renaissance fortress which reportedly costs $420,000 a night. Kim wore ivory haute couture – a dress designed by her long-time friend Riccardo Tisci, of Givenchy. And North West was matching in a custom-fitted gown!
Guests were treated to a multi-course sit-down dinner by restaurant owner Giorgia Pinchiorri, who happens to have three Michelin stars under his belt. When broken down, each person consumed approximately $2,044 worth of fancy-pants food and $5,452 worth of champagne.
After the toasts, there was a performance by international singing star Andrea Bocelli and fireworks galore. Add that to Lana Del Rey’s three-song performance at the rehearsal dinner and the music totalled around $1.7 million for the weekend.
The couple also paid for private jets, security and hotels rooms for everyone in attendance. And judging by Kanye’s Mother’s Day gift to Kim – a literal wall of flowers – we can imagine the decorations were suitably OTT, too.
All in all, the out-of-this-world wedding extraordinaire cost close to $20 million!
That said, these two have always lived by the ‘go hard or go home’ motto, so we shouldn’t really be surprised should we?
