There are many excuses to raid your boys wardrobe this coming season with shapes getting more and more oversized and man inspired.
The new look for spring is the shirt-as-dress. With a nod to the eighties this look is clean cut, crisp and can be ultra flattering to the legs. Take it from Tom Cruise, this look is here to stay well into the coming seasons but best to be first off the starting block rather than risk looking fashion tragic.
The Man O Man from our favourite shirting label Mr. Rose is perfect for this new trend. Cut to flatter, its oversized but sculpted, which is ideal for the free flowing look we are after. Wear open at the neck to show off décolletage, roll at the adjustable sleeves to three quarters or shorter and hang loose over tights and chunky heels, shorts or hot pants if you dare!
For those of us who need to show some semblance of a waist, cinch in with a plaited leather belt or nick one of his fabulous silk ties to finish the look.
For a more classic take on the shirt dress head into Baubridge and Kay or Herringbone for their versions of the shirtdress. Play around with contrasting prints and accessories especially chunky beads or silk scarves.
