Hemp pants and sandpaper tees be gone! The following labels make sustainable clothing a reality without sacrificing style. Gorman and Rally are two local labels working to infuse some fashion conscience in an industry that survives on passing trend.
When Fiona Raleigh was a fashion student, she became concerned with the lack of environmentally friendly fashion. After learning that a 1 litre yield of cotton sucks up 20,000 litres of water, Fiona went on a mission to create clothing that was green friendly as well as fashionable. Enter Rally . Manufactured using 100% Australian bore water cotton, the tees are enviro friendly and cute to boot. The cotton is a little thicker than average, but won’t scrape your skin like hemp (phew!) Keep an eye out for summer dresses and baby Rally for Spring…
Anyone who’s slipped on a soft Gorman knit or tee, will know that Lisa Gorman designs with love. Her label has always emphasised quality fabric and fine workmanship, and now it’s got a green thumb. Gorman Organic utilises fibres that are certified as organically produced in a collection of basics. Hoodies, tees and underwear are designed to be worn for longer than one season.
Have you come across any other green fashion brands? Would you pay more for organic style? Let Tragic know and you could win a double movie pass.

Yes, I would, only if the style and design deserved it though.
